We generally start our tours about June 15^th as this is the time of year that the trail heels up after a long cold winter. At this time there may be a large snowdrift that blocks the trail up by the mine. We generally bulldoze the snow out by June 15^th if possible or soon there after. For a group that likes hiking it only takes 10 to 15 min. to hike up past the snow drift to the old bunk- house and to a mile long level hiking trail that our guests find to be a fantastic alpine experience. On the walk we will see an array of alpine flowers, and an unforgettable view of Denali National Park, and possibly moose, caribou,  ptarmigan- the Alaska State bird, or if we are lucky the grizzly sow that has been raising her cubs in the area for years. However if you are not the hiking type there are plenty of other things to see and do, including driving farther into the Park on the other fork in the road, glassing for wildlife and other shorter nature walks.

Our tour leaves daily at 9:00 a.m. from Igloo City Resort. Van service is available for groups of 4 or more to and from Denali Park City, and anywhere within a 60 mile radius for $40 per person. We can have you back to catch the 4 p.m. train, see custom start times.

Our maximum group size is 24 adults and 3 smaller children. We have 2 trucks that can carry 6 to 11 adults each and 2 children each and the V.I.P truck that holds 4. The trucks do have canvas tops and sides, the sides are only used during a driving wind. However for your comfort we only pre book 8 people per truck. We do this so if its cold or rainy you will have the option of riding up front where the heater is. If you have a group of 6-11 adults we can if you like book you for 1 truck and give you10% discount, this discount also applies for groups of 12 + that book both trucks, but you must come prepared for Alaska's inclement weather.
